Of all the common bad breath cures we’ve come across in our research this one seems a little outside the box. At least from the point of view of a typical western consumer who’s been trained to throw more pills at any problem and it’ll eventually go away or at least you won’t feel so bad.
The Chinese believe, as part of the traditional Chinese medicine system, that bad breath can be caused by a malfunctioning digestive system and they have a cure for it. Before we talk about the cause and the cure, we need to talk a little bit about the medicine.
Traditional Chinese Medicine has been around along time, 2000 to 3000 years in fact. The traditional Chinese medicine’s, approach to diagnosing and curing illnesses is fundamentally different from western medicine. The basic principals of traditional Chinese medicine are that all creation is born from the interdependency of two principles, the yin and yang. The two are in ever lasting motion that creates the balance in a health body. When either the yin or the yang becomes unbalanced, this is when disease and illness results. One of the body elements in traditional Chinese medicine is Qi (pronounced “chee”) this is the energy that gives as the power to think, move, work and feel. Qi passes along on a system of conduits, the primary ones being channels.
