How can sleep deprivation affect weight loss? Surely the reverse is true! If we’re tossing and turning all night, aren’t we burning a few more kilojoules?

A big symptom of depression in many people is the inability to get proper rest. This lack of sleep only compounds the other symptoms and makes you feel completely “wiped out” from top to bottom.

However, exercise doesn’t have to be this way. It doesn’t need to be strenuous, and it certainly doesn’t need to be scary to the point where no one wants to do it. Continue reading ‘Balancing Sleeping and Excercising’ »

For many years now it has become more apparent that nutrition played an important role in the life of a drug addict, alcoholic, methadone patient or other that might be chemically imbalanced. Today many are looking for answers to help solve the problem of nutritional deficiencies in alcoholics, drug addicts and methadone treatment patients. This search was pioneered by a group of doctors who developed a vitamin mineral supplement to help people with drug problems. Today more people are paying attention to this problem with their clients whom are in treatment. In many cases it is being added to their treatment plans. The big problem then is what course of action needs to be taken to positively affect a change in their client’s health and nutrition.

Many times the course of action to address the problem is to tell the person to start taking a “good” vitamin. Maybe they tell them to go to a health food store and try some specific product that might give them some relief. This can be expensive road to follow, trying to find the right vitamin supplement for each case. Vitamin B in various forms is most often recommended for low energy but that is just one issue. Then people are told another product to help other issues (Something for this and something else for that.). The result is that there is no real change because the treatment is not complete. The problems persist and sometimes even worsen. The person gives up and becomes skeptic towards the benefit of health and nutritional supplements.

Infertility can be a tough condition or disease for many men. They may feel as though they have few choices, while some may feel that their situation is too much to overcome. In fact, several treatments exist that may provide help to men or women suffering from infertility problems. Analyzing the semen of men experiencing an infertility issue may provide answers that doctors need to recommend certain treatments. Semen analysis laboratories may be helpful in pinpointing a problem or collecting enough data and information to diagnose the problem causing infertility. Speaking to a medical professional is the best way to obtain information regarding these laboratories and to better understand the process.

Going into a consultation with a basic understanding of semen analysis may be beneficial to men seeking answers to their infertility issue. In many cases, one of the first tests a doctor will administer for couples having problems conceiving is a semen analysis. Once enough information has been collected from both partners, fertility doctors may be able to identify the specific problem causing the couple’s infertility and then discuss possible routes they may take to overcome their problem and/or achieve their fertility goals. Many chronic pain patients may be under-treated as a result of doctors who are trying to gain control over pain killer addiction, they report. If you are addicted to pain killers or other drugs or think you may be, you can start working to increase the body’s endorphin production naturally; some ways are laughing, touching, massage, acupuncture, acupressure, walking, anything that makes you feel good that’s natural. Physical dependence on a drug suggests that sudden stopping of the drug may result in negative consequences.

There are a number of effective treatment options to treat pain killer addiction to prescription opioids and to help manage the sometimes severe withdrawal symptoms that can accompany sudden stopping of pain killers or drugs. A person exhibits compulsive behavior to satisfy their craving for a pain killer or pain medication even when there are negative consequences associated with taking the pain killer or drug. Opioids used as the doctor has prescribed are supposedly not dangerous according to some well-established medical groups; but if this is the case, why are so many people addicted to them?
