How Does the Body Produce Collagen?

Published: Aug 28th, 2010 | Author: admin Add Comment

I know that many people wonder how does body produce collagen, and why it does manufacture lower amounts of this structural protein as we get older. Most are concerned about this mainly due to the effect that the slowed production of this tissue has on their skin. What you need to understand is that this tissue is used for many purposes throughout the body.

The same type of collagen that forms the connective structure of your skin is also the material that your organs, veins, and arteries are made of. When this tissue is being produced it is these vital areas that take precedence over your skin when it comes to receiving collagen for repair and maintenance. This is why your appearance takes the brunt of the impact when production begins to slow down.

So, how does body produce collagen? It all begins with a single cell, inside of which begins the formation of protein peptides. What these forming peptides are is short chains of amino acids, which are something that almost anyone in this newly fitness conscious world has heard of. These proteins make up the foundation for what will become the connective tissue of your skin.

How to Prevent Male Age Spots

Published: Aug 20th, 2010 | Author: admin Add Comment

Let me tell you a quick story. We deal with male age spots in the same way that we deal with a woman’s. It’s a step-by-step process that starts with protecting the area from the sun. Although, people sometimes think of them as being caused by the aging process, they are actually caused by sun exposure.

There are some differences between men’s and women’s skin, due in part to different hormones. But, men’s skin is also more susceptible to redness and inflammation. They tend to use harsher cleansers and alcohol-based aftershave solutions that actually do more harm than good.

Although the sun is the primary cause of uneven pigmentation and “spotting”, petroleum-based alcohols (methyl, ethyl, isopropyl, etc) can cause them, too. It helps to know the causes, because once you are able to get rid of them, you need to learn how to prevent them from coming back. The use of a daily cream, preferably after shaving, that includes natural vitamin E will help.

Human growth hormone and IGF1

The cells capacity to function depends on the genetic material, the genetic material, in the heart of the cell, which codes for all the proteins, hormones, and enzymes that force to the cell run. The genetic material is like an army under continual aggression from oxygen free radicals, ultraviolet light, the heat of the body, and other hurtful agents.

Even though the genetic material has the capacity to patch up itself, it falls down on the occupation with age, a victim of the consistent aging action that affects the cell. By the consistent time, injury is accumulating in the energy core of the cell, the mitochondria, which contain its own genetic material. Up to at the present, one of the a small amount of ways we may possibly limit the destruction to the Dna was to take antioxidant supplements such as vitamin C and E to bolster our own defenses. Acne And Oily Skin Care Treatment – Watch What You Buy And Protect Your Skin

Published: Aug 13th, 2010 | Author: admin Add Comment

Let’s face it. A lot of us suffer from what many simply refer to as bad skin, and are actively forced to seek an effective acne and oily skin care treatment. Most of the products used to treat oily and blemished skin are overrated, and contain compounds in them that can actually damage your skin even more. These formulas do not contain the ingredients best suited for giving you the clear, healthy skin you are after.

Oily skin is caused by overactive sebaceous glands that produce sebum, which serves as the healthy, lubricating substance for your skin. When there is excessive sebum production the normally light oil becomes heavy and thick. What happens in many cases is that oily skin becomes more susceptible to clogged pores, blackheads, and a buildup of dead skin cells on the surface. (more…)

Facial Peels

Published: Jul 25th, 2010 | Author: admin Add Comment

When we are young the outer layer of skin on our face and body is regenerated daily. In other words, the outer layer of skin dies and is replaced by new fresh skin. This process of out with the old and in with the new goes on throughout our early lives. This is exactly why the skin of a younger person is usually supple and vibrant.  At around forty years old this natural process begins to slow down dramatically to where our skin is barely regenerating on its own. The skin of an older person can become dull and grey. Many of the facial products on the market today are specifically designed to encourage regeneration.

Chemical peels are one of the most common and effective ways to promote new skin to the surface. Many of these peels are really not chemical per say, because they are actually derived from natural substances such as sugar cane and fruit.  Facial chemical peels can reduce the signs of aging; diminish scars and other skin imperfections. There are basically three levels of facial peels available to you; light peels, medium peels, and deep peels. (more…)

Sun Burn Rejuvenation Tips

You screwed up and actually burned your skin when you spent the entire day outdoors. Sure, you may have slathered on some sunscreen, but this may not have been enough. Instead of reprimanding yourself, you can choose to do something about it. You may have aged your skin by a couple of months, but as long as you know that you need to be more careful the next time around, you can also fix some of the damaged you caused. You need to come up with a rescue plan, and lucky for you, you do have options available right now.

If it hurts and your skin is swollen, you need to take aspirin or ibuprofen. These meds work by reducing inflammation, which means that they ease the irritation and redness that are your body’s first responses to a serious burn. The catch is, you have to take them within 24 hours of getting fried. Otherwise, the redness can actually cause permanent damage.

Then, you need to moisturize like crazy. Lotion infused with an anti-inflammatory like aloe vera will decrease the flakiness you are likely to experience, as the redness from your bad burn turns into peeling and itchy skin. Slather it on as often as possible because it’ll feel cool and soothing. After that, don’t forget to use sunscreen religiously. Blocking UV light exposure gives skin time to heal and your immune system a chance to repair some of the damage. In fact, experts suggest that zealously using sunscreen with an SPF of at least 15 can keep precancerous cell changes you’ve already racked up from progressing. (more…)
