He believes that lack of sleep robs people of the energy they need to exercise and sets up a vicious low-energy cycle that sabotages your weight loss programme. Often when energy reserves are low, people turn to high-fat and high-sugar laden foods or caffeinated drinks for energy pick-me-ups…all of which interfere with weight loss efforts. Some may drink 10 to 15 caffeinated beverages a day, which has a adverse effect on sleep quality. It’s a double whammy. (more…)

Asbestos Mesothelioma And Sugar – That Chocolate Bar Is Suppressing Your Immune System

Published: Jul 11th, 2010 | Author: admin Add Comment

In the fight against asbestos mesothelioma cancer, cutting sugar out of your diet is critical in aiding your immune system. When you eat sugar, a chain of events occurs starting with your insulin level increasing dramatically. With the increased insulin levels, growth hormone levels are also reduced which then suppresses your immune system.

When your insulin level increases, any excess sugar is stored as fat cells. And of course, more fat cells in your body means that you put greater pressure on your heart to pump more oxygenated blood to the fat cells, which leaves less oxygen to combat the asbestos mesothelioma cancer cells.

According to one study, eating just 1/2 a cup of sugar or two cans of pop, can suppress 91% of your immune system for up to 6 hours. (more…)

Published: Jul 1st, 2010 | Author: admin Add Comment

There are many people today doing the HCG Weight Loss. This diet not only benefits the morbidly obese, it can also benefit individuals seeking a holistic dieting technique for dropping small amounts of extra body weight. HCG weight loss is beneficial in a number of ways. And after the plan was created by Dr. Simeons in the 1950s, it was not long before people began to realize that the plan could benefit anyone of any race, age, and gender. What’s more, this diet plan works for people who want to lose a significant amount of weight as well as those who have struggled with weight management for a long time.

The HCG weight loss program has a very stringent, very low calorie food intake requirement. The limit for caloric intake on a daily basis is a total of 500 calories. There is a restricted list of foods that are consumed while using this diet as well. The use of HCG products will curb one’s appetite, increase one’s metabolic processes, and make it possible for the dieter to remain committed to such a strict dieting regimen. The HCG diet also prevents the body from slowing down the body metabolic process too: this means calories continue to be burned even when the dieter is consuming very small amounts of food. (more…)

Does the 11 Day Diet Really Work?

Published: Dec 17th, 2009 | Author: admin Add Comment

The 11 day diet, also known as the Idiot Proof Diet, takes an interesting and new approach to dieting. Rather than counting calories, the 11 day diet works to manipulate the metabolism through an 11 day cycle of caloric adjustment, never allowing the body to adjust to one specific metabolic rate. The diet consists of an 11 day cycle followed by a three day rest period where one eats whatever he or she wants. The goal of this diet is to not allow the metabolism to slow down or ever rest at one rate. If one’s metabolism is faster than the end result will be weight loss. This is not a new concept as many athletes have used similar rituals for years. However, the idea of an 11 day cycle is a unique approach to an already proven method to weight loss.

There are some basic rules that this diet adheres to. First, meals cycle between carbohydrate rich and protein rich over the 11 day period as well as throughout the day. Next, the dieter is supposed to eat 4 meals per day, separated by 2.5 hours. The purpose of this is to keep the metabolism working constantly and balance blood sugar levels. In addition, meals need to be prepared at home. Furthermore, the dieter needs to avoid condiments such as: mayonnaise, butter and other spreads which offer excess calories. One also needs to be mindful of how much he or she is eating and to stop eating once satisfied. This diet does not have a caloric restriction, but overeating will not result in the intended outcome. In addition, the consumption of beverages such as: pop, fruit juices and other high calorie drinks are not allowed. Instead, one needs to drink 8-10 glasses of water per day. Lastly, avoid sweets and walk at least 45 minutes per day to increase metabolic rates and burn fat. (more…)
