One of the most important health issues I stress to my patients is creating, or maintaining, heart health. The best ways to ensure heart health and its all-important job of developing nourishing blood to every part of your body is to prevent plaque buildup and reduced blood flow in arteries. Diet, exercise, lifestyle changes, and certain supplements can work together to accomplish this goal!

In this first of a two-part series, I would like to explain to you a little about what coronary artery disease and blocked arteries can mean. Then we’ll talk about the proactive things you can do to avoid these conditions naturally without drugs or surgery.

Part II will deal with a controversial subject chelation therapy. Chelation methods of detoxing arteries with natural supplements have been an alternative medicine approach to arterial plaque for several years now. Continue reading ‘Heart Health and Clean Arteries – Part 1’ »

Antibiotic-Resistant Disease Killing Humans and Swine

The antibiotic-resistant bacteria Extended
Spectrum Beta Lactamase (ESBL) is killing both
people and swine in Denmark.

The bacteria has been implicated in the deaths
of a number of cancer and liver disease
patients. The number of infected patients
jumped 50 percent last year.

Health officials said the bacteria is being
transmitted to humans through pigs. The
increased use of antibiotics in agriculture may
be behind the spread of the resistant strain.

What are ESBLs?

Extended-Spectrum Beta-Lactamases (ESBLs) are
actually enzymes produced by certain types of
bacteria, which renders the bacteria resistant
to the antibiotics commonly used to treat them.

ESBLs were first discovered in the mid-1980s. At
the time they were mostly found in the
Klebsiella species of bacteria, in hospital
intensive care units. Until recently, few people
were affected by these mutated bacteria and it
didn’t appear to be a major growing concern. Continue reading ‘Antibiotic-Resistant Disease Killing Humans and Swine’ »

You could argue that a guarantee is a guarantee. That it doesn’t matter as long as the weight loss supplement works.

But here is the thing.

Which diet pill would you feel more confident in? The one that can offer you a 180 day money back guarantee (Proactolâ„¢) or one that only lasts 2 weeks (Hoodia Gordonii Diet Pills)?

If we’re honest, the one that offers a 180 day money back guarantee looks the most appealing. Why? Because it gives you chance to truly test the effectiveness of the product; to see if it does actually work for you in the long term and not for just a few weeks. Plus you can use it safe in the knowledge that if it doesn’t work you can get a full refund. Continue reading ‘Weight loss diet pill guarantees – what do they really offer?’ »

Soccer is by far the most popular game on the planet. Countries create holidays in order to celebrate any success that their national team might have at different world tournaments. The game is simple, it takes great skill, and for some reason soccer just hasn’t caught on in the United States. Yet, soccer is coming to America, and is claiming a firm hold on America’s youth. The number of youth playing soccer is greater than the amount of youth that are playing baseball (America’s game). Although the sport is gaining popularity among America’s youth, there is still a wide generation gap between those who love soccer and those who never got into the soccer craze.

If you have never played soccer, then you might be missing out on a workout that you would really enjoy. Soccer is a great way to work up a sweat, and to lose some of the extra pounds that you have on your body. Soccer is actually an easy game, on the surface, for people to start playing. All you have to do really is kick the ball. Kicking a soccer ball around a park can be just as fun as passing around a freebie, or throwing around a baseball or football. The nice thing about soccer is that you don’t require anyone to play catch with, and you can still be practicing your soccer skills. Studies have shown that if you are starving yourself, then you aren”t losing weight effectively. That doesn’t mean that you should just eat anything that you have a craving for, and not eat within moderation. Yet, it does mean that if you are subscribing to a weight loss strategy that has you missing meals and starving your body, then it will turn out poorly for your overall health. Breakfast is a meal that many people miss eating, to the detriment of their weight loss goals.

A meal that Americans are having trouble eating is a healthy breakfast. Studies have shown that a well balanced breakfast is a keystone to a healthy diet and lifestyle. Many people who are trying to lose weight miss manage breakfast, and that leads to failure in their weight loss ambitions. Breakfast, as the name of the meal explains, is the breaking of the night’s fast. Your body has been sleeping, and recharging during the night’s sleep. When sleeping your body is conserving energy, and partially shutting down. This partial shutdown slows your body’s metabolism. The body doesn’t start to metabolize and burn energy, which is how your lose weight, until it takes in some form of nutrients. That is one of the many reasons why breakfast is essential to losing weight. Once you eat breakfast, your body will start to burn energy, and prepare for the daily load ahead of it.
